Working with UCCA, Calderdale Council, the Environment Agency, farmers, business owners and people who care about our town are working hard to build this great day.
President Shirley Fielder tells us, “Even with its massive problems, Calder Vale Park WILL be used. It’s a space well loved by the people of Todmorden and cannot be simply written off. Care will be necessary to ensure its prime use as a flood plain to protect Todmorden must be observed— the Park will see a ‘traditional’ approach to country pursuits, with a keen emphasis on local business at its core, family values and a day of spectacular fun, the Fair aims to make Tod people feel proud of its town and the call ‘Destination Todmorden’ worth the trip. Calderdale Council and the Environment Agency have attended meetings and pledge support and guidance to avoid damaging the park.”
Chairman Peter Boddy comments, “That’s the good news –now comes the hard part—any event no matter how small takes organisation and funding—this is a huge undertaking and we have very, very limited funds –YET— we do have bags of enthusiasm and we ask for your help.”
Sponsorship opportunities are available across the Fair in several areas and all packages can be tailored to suit your needs. Sponsorship of a specific area of the Fair e.g. a tent named after a business or group, advertising boards on the main arenas or flags around the Fair.
Livestock sponsorship
Sponsoring prizes e.g. children’s pets, the dog show or arts and crafts
Put a huge note in your diary–there is a massive need to call all volunteers for the show – we need an army to help from stewards and brew makers to marshals and helpers in a myriad of ways.
Let’s get together and make this a monumental tribute to Todmorden and its townsfolk!!
As I have already said, this is a massive undertaking and we ask everyone to pledge support both financially, and in others ways and idea’s please contact Shirley – 07852355111.
